The Garcia Family

Menacing Media

Clearly, we have issues: I'm blogging away and our 1 month old is watching the Chargers game!

Addison finally got to meet Nana, Big Nana to the little grommet (great gma). It was a pretty emotional event, especially since she now lives in Texas with my aunt and was not able to make it for the birth. Pics to follow :)

The Time Has Come...

Tomorrow Addison will be 4 weeks old (sobbing), and being that we have a cradle at the foot of our bed and now a close and secure sleeper in the middle of our bed (Danny now only retains 1/3 of the Real Estate that is our bed), I have come to realize that if I continue this, I'd have her in a papoose strapped to me every night lickitysplit. I also have taken note that I don't sleep, not because she keeps us up, (last night she only woke up once and was changed, fed, and back down in 40 minutes) but because I lay there and stare at her the entire time saying to myself: "She's amazing, she's beautiful...and she's ours!"

Because of this definite obsession with the little grommet, (how could I not be obsessed, although should I ever entertain the idea of becoming a pageant mom, I demand every family member have me committed-it's called a "5150" if you need to know which forms to file), I have decided that in order to preserve the sanctity of our marriage (i.e giving Danny back his 1/2 of the bed) and in hopes of somehow getting some sleep, she is now in her room and in her crib: baby monitor in check with the hand-helds strategically placed around the house.

I'll keep you posted as to how this little experiment goes, I bet it doesn't last two nights. I love my sleep stalking time with her! Plus, it's kind of like hiding the ice cream in the back of the freezer, you know it's there so really all you're doing is having to move a couple bags of frozen veggies, Texas Toast, and ta da...indulgence at its best my friends!

A special shout-out to JBenito Photography for coming to the Wolery house on short notice to take these:

El Viaje a El Centro

That's right you guessed it, Addison made her first visit to Nana and Tata's in El Centro. El Centro is a magical place, where dreams of lollipops and sugar plums are put to rest by the reality of the odoriferous manure that permeates every inch of your nasal passages and drab dessert landscape that pains the eye; all in all, it's home and my husband has no qualms of indulging my desires for "old home week" as long as he is guaranteed visits to Mexicali Taco, Burgers and Beer, and Camacho's.

It started off as a surprise for my mom who has been having Addi withdrawals since she left after she was born (thinking she would not see her until Christmas). It turns out my brother (who is in the Air Force and we had not seen since our family trip to Montana in June) and his wife, had the same plans to surprise us by meeting us there.

God thank you for our family!

(Missy visited us back in the O.C, but she belongs in any post about El Centro...hee!)

Addison paid a visit to her great-great grandmother this past Sunday. She is a lucky little grommet to be the fifth generation in a loving family.
